On the 12th Day of Health & Wellness, My True Love Gave to Me. Try Something New Expand your horizons, talk to a stranger, order something other than the usual on the menu or at the coffeehouse. You might find something else you like. A lot of the time, the reason we are holding ourselves back is because we are scared and afraid.  Scared and afraid of what? Rejection, loneliness, humiliation, judgement, not being good enough. Photo Credit Here Taking risks and trying something new will challenge and change you. Change! Yes, Change. Change can be uncomfortable, can be scary, challenging, and fun! What would you feel like, if 5 years from now your life didn’t change at all? Would you continue to like the position you are in? Probably not. Then why are you so afraid of change. Why do most people fight against change?   Get out there today and try something new. Push your boundaries and get out of your own way. Create the life you, because you are enough. Photo Credit...

On the 11th Day of Health & Wellness… Saying No. Photo Credit Here It is OK to say no. This Holiday Season say no to extra food (when you are full), to taking on more events (when you are already busy), to more presents (your presence is more important). Slow it down this Holiday Season. Our motto this season is to Keep It Simple. (That is our motto every season, but especially this season.) When you say no to opportunities that you really don’t want to do, it opens up your time to say YES to things that you really want to do. Think of it this way, if it is not an IMMEDIATE, “YES!”, say no. Try it out. See what happens when you start to give yourself the time you need and what shows up for you when you say no. Now this is for the people who have already overcommitted this Holiday Season. ask for help Ask for Help! From your family, friends, co-workers. You don’t need to do it all alone. There are plenty of people that will jump up to help you, if you only ask for it. (and if you feel like you don’t have that in your life, contact me I will help you!) Photo Credit...

The 10th Day of Health & Wellness Meditation & Gratitude Meditation and Gratitude Journaling are two of the most important things you can add into your day. Taking 5-15 minutes out of your day just to be with yourself is vital. You will start to learn more about yourself and train your mind to slow down the chatter. The mind is powerful and most of the time runs on autopilot of constant chatter that you have no control over. Meditation will help slow it down and then maybe you can have an actual real thought. Meditation can give you answers to the questions you have, when you slow down and listen to your soul, it will tell you what to do.  Guided meditation is a great way to start. There are plenty of you tube videos (Hay House ones are my favorite) that you can follow. One of my great friends wrote a blog post on mediation: The ONE Practice to Unlock Your Power by Robin Drury Mekas Check it out! She gives you some tips and tricks to meditation. (hint: it is not just about sitting quietly, focusing on your breath and trying not to think about anything. It is much more!)  This last November on Facebook, I saw a lot of #30daysofthanks posts. What about continuing that thankfulness throughout the year? Everyday on your post-it, journal or piece of paper next to your bed jot down three things you are thankful for that day. When you wake in the morning review what your wrote the night before. Start your day off with a grateful heart. Living a grateful life and attitude for life will change your day. There are a plenty of things you can be thankful for, today and everyday. Focus on what you have, fill your heart with gratitude. Photo Credit...

On the 9th Day of Health & Wellness, My True Love Gave to Me… Sparkling Water   Hmmm, why sparkling water? Because you can make some fabulous non-alcoholic Holiday drinks this time of year. When you think about the amount of calories you are increasing this time of year, it usually comes from the extra amount of cookies and sugar your consuming and the increased amount of alcohol. Anyone ever notice that they don’t post calories on beer bottles? There are 110 calories in one 12oz Bud Light Beer. There are on average 85 calories in 3.5fl oz. of Red Wine. We would encourage you to try to substitute a sparkling water drink, instead of reaching for an alcoholic drink. It will help you two fold. You are saving yourself some caloric intake, by decreasing the amount of alcohol you are drinking. You can be the designated driver. (This is extremely important this time of year. Not because there are more police out on the roads, but because there are more people out on the roads and by drinking and driving you are impairing your skills as a fellow driver on the roads. Keep yourself, family and other drivers safe, Don’t Drink & Drive.) Here is one of our favorite sparkling water drink recipes: 15 Delicious Non-alcoholic Spritzers, Sodas, and Mocktails Maybe this year you will be able to remember the stories instead of be in...

The 7th Day of Health & Wellness

On the 7th Day of Health & Wellness To-Do List   Before you tell me you have soooo much on your to-do list, that you would have to put a to-do list on your to-do list, hear me out.   Here is what we are recommending; put a pen & notepad next to your bedside and before you go to sleep write down and Prioritize your “to-do’s” for the next day. I still like to do this pen & paper style, even though there is the Note App on my phone.  When I am done I can get the satisfaction of crossing it off the list. (Deleting it on my Note App just isn’t as satisfying.)   This will help with those running thoughts of what I need to do. Where the kids are going? Did I pack them an orange in their lunch? Are they suppose to bring a snack to school? I need to get more eggs and butter if I am going to bake those cookies. The constant stream of chatter and questions that may run through your mind when you are winding down for sleep. Write it down, get it off your mind, and settle into rest. Another thing to remember with list making is, It is O.K. to not get it all done! Between balancing jobs, school, family and the Holidays it can be a little stressful. Remember that some things can be moved to tomorrow’s list (that is why you prioritize them). The real question of the day is not how many things did I get done on my To-Do List, the real question is did I LOVE enough today?...
