Most people do not drink enough of plain water. Especially during the winter months, when you are not sweating as much and not as thirsty. You probably are more dehydrated during the winter months than the summer because it is drier and you cannot read your body’s signals as well.


On of the biggest pieces of advice that we give out at Innovative Chiropractic Center is Drink More Water. There is a whole slew of things that happens when you are dehydrated. When you add to that getting adjusted and releasing built up toxins in your body the water is extremely helpful.


How much should you drink? Two ways of deciding this, either by drinking enough water so that your urine is a pale yellow color OR taking your body weight, dividing it in half, take that number in oz and add 30oz. This should be the amount of plain water you should be drinking.


What if you don’t like the “taste” of water? Add some frozen berries or fresh herbs. Cut up cucumber and slice up some real mint, put that in the water. Try to stay away from packaged flavoring. Stick with the real food.  *Remember drinking coffee or tea does not count towards your daily water intake it actually subtracts from it!
